Hey readers, long time no post!
I thought today I'd go over my Paris Couture Fashion Week favourites, I was going to do a total in depth look at most of the shows, but school has just started up, and to be quite honest I've only seen photos, and watched the shows online so I cant give a super accurate retelling, so here are my favourite looks and shows from this years collections!
Sparkly, gold gorgeousness. If I were a princess, I don't think I’d ever wear anything else! Each gown hand beaded, with stunning full flouncy skirts. The collection had a delicate pastel colour palette, along with plenty of sparkle and shimmer. Each piece was beautifully cohesive with the last and had this very feminine dainty vibe - probably one of my favourite collections ever. Each model were a grecian-esk headpiece, and low heeled sandals. Each look had a youthful soft sweetness, that could only of been created by Saab himself.
“Theres no denying that Elie Saab is extremely good at what he does: he makes dress dreams come true. If ever you wanted to feel like a princess, he is the man to wave his magic sewing wand and make it happen.”-vogue.com
First, can we please take a moment to appreciate the runway-art in itself. A bed of 25,000 multicoloured orchids under the perspex runway. “Donatella took the glamour, sophistication and sweetness of those flowers and made her vision of haute couture seem fresher and more approachable.” The colour palette was stunning, the dresses were stunning, with a slight Shakespearean feel. Floral fabulousness.
Why go to an art gallery when you can sit and watch a Victor & Ralph show? The models were draped in cloth-blank canvases. There were gilded frames around necks and wrists, like abstracted collars or sleeves. This took the concept of fashion being art to a whole new, beautiful level.
Thats it for now beautiful people, until next time!
