Oh hey babes!
Time for another trend report, this one is on one of summers fashions frequents - Bardot tops, off the shoulder blouses,shoulder-less dresses and the sorts. To be quite honest, most of them are hugely tacky in my eyes. But I have seen a lot of them in the past few months and SHOCK ! I liked some of them... actually a lot of them #guiltyascharged.
I particularly adore this Trelise Cooper beauty from her summer 2016 collection, described as "Road trip across the States in a crop top inspired by the city of Vegas. The distinctive print of pin-up girls, neon signs and palm trees makes the most of your summer glow with a cropped length and cutaway shoulders. " (via Trelise Cooper Online). It comes in both black (above) and white (in header image of this post), and is part of a set, its pair being cute flowy printed shorts with the same vegas print. It gets the "Alex doesn't think this is tacky" seal of approval.
Topshop is really pushing the bardot cut at the moment, so of course I had to include one. I really love this structured take on the classic-it's classy, clean and sophisticated. Paired with a structured dusty blue skirt (above) and you have one of my #outfitgoals. "The off-shoulder top goes grown-up with this structured bardot style. Comes in a chic neutral tone with elasticated shoulders for the perfect fit."(Topshop website). Yet again it gets the "Alex doesn't think this is tacky" seal of approval.
Finally, is this ruffled ensemble by Allie McAll. I would kill for a playsuit like this, glamorous and fun yet classy. The off the shoulder cut makes the ruffling flattering and adds interest to an otherwise quite boring one piece. Perfect for your next cocktail party, or night out. Allie knows how to use a Bardot to it's full potential. Big "Alex doesn't think this is tacky" seal of approval.
So why are you still here?! GO GRAB A BARDOT, but then come back, there is plenty more for you to read and check out.
best of luck,
