Whilst I've been at school for the past two days fashion week kicked off-and I've been keeping up (online during English). It's super similar to being actually there, only you don't get in trouble for not finishing your essay. #sorrynotsorry. Here are some of my fave moments from New Zealand Fashion Week ’16 days 1 & 2.
Harman Grubisa kicked the whole thing off with their show on Monday night, the collection is gorgeous, and totally worth taking a full look through (here). The line's colours and textures were amazing, I particularly favourited the silver pleats and silky blush tones. I have my eye on one of their dusky pink pantsuits-actually no, I have my eye on just about everything. Madeleine & Jessica definitely lived up to the standard they set last year, super stunning.
Salasai is a NZFW OG, having collections shown during fashion week for years now, they know how to do it well. The collection is super edgy, yet still very classy and wearable. Some of the looks featured hand calligraphed tattoo's, which I would of questioned if it was any other show, but Salasai really worked it into the collections aesthetic, and they looked sick! Boyish tailoring and a muted colour palette made the whole line casual, urban cool. Also really want me a pair of off white docs...
Day two's Eugenie show definitely lived up to it's hype-or so Iv'e heard.. Iv'e searched every where desperately trying to find shot of the show, but have failed miserably. From what Iv'e found, I love it. Im a sucker for velvet, and crushed maroony pink velvet? Sign me up! Denims, and tailoring and chokers and florals and berets and yesssss. Hopefully more shot come out, because these cuties by Guy Coombes for NZ Viva are gorge.
Honorable mentions: Miss Crabb on bus? Yup Miss Crabb on a bus. The off-schedule show was v cute, after just celebrating the brands 12th anniversary, Kristine threw a party full of beautiful clothes and beautiful people.
Ciao for now,
