Guess who’s back! Yes, I’m still alive. Yes, I’m sorry I am so inconsistent with posting (lol I have a life) and yes I PROMISE to post more! Here's a lil chat I had with fashion blogger extraordinaire/someone who knows how to do life/goals af/Katherine Lowe (Katherine Is Awesome). Her domain is legit, she is awesome. Seriously.
If you had to wear one particular item of clothing for the rest of your life - nothing else, what would it be?
It would have to be a sweater of some sort. I'm usually cold so I always need a sweater with me.
Favourite place in Auckland? Where should I eat?
I have a lot of places I love in Auckland. I would recommend The French Cafe if you have cash to blow, otherwise I would definitely stop in at Depot. The wait for a table will probably be long but it's worth it, trust me.
What is style to you?
Feeling comfortable and looking distinctively 'you'.
If you wrote a book, what would the title be, and what's the plot?
Probably some really long-winded, ranty autobiography called 'Shout out to Asian girls'. I would just write about me because I'm not clever enough to write about anything else!
Are there any kiwi brands/designers that are sticking out right now? Is there any that you love wearing personally?
I wear a lot of NZ designers. I like all the usuals - Kate Sylvester, Lonely, Karen Walker, twenty-seven names, Juliette Hogan, Penny Sage, Georgia Alice.
Where did you last travel and why?
I went to Melbourne for the Australian Open. That sentence sounds like I went like I was invited, but it was actually just a group holiday with my friends that involved going to the tennis.
What's the coolest or most exciting project you’ve worked on so far?
I've been lucky enough to work on a lot of projects and they're all pretty dope. One from last year that I particularly loved was styling the Sylvester W16 show. I'd never done anything like that before and it was really cool.
Any "how to do life" advice? Is there anything you wished you had known when you were younger?
So many things. I wish I hadn't spent so much money on stupid stuff and saved a hell of a lot more!
You have 3 words to describe yourself and your “aesthetic” (God I feel like an idiot saying that.) GO!
Tomboyish, comfortable, plain.
Do you look up to anyone style wise/do you draw inspiration from anywhere?
I don't have a person in mind for this but I guess I am always drawn to the same kinds of things - navy, grey, neutral colours, comfortable clothes, baggy tshirts, sweaters, jeans, flat shoes, etc - so whenever I see stuff like that I stop to look further.
How do I take a good photo on a crap phone? Probably isn’t possible….I’m still going to ask.
Unless your phone is like circa 2000 I think that you can get a good photo if you have good light and you have a good eye. I hate it when people are like 'what camera do you use?' like they're going to somehow be good at taking photos if they buy an expensive camera.
Why do you blog? How do I make my blog as cool as yours?!
To be honest, I don't blog that much anymore. I don't know, I just don't feel like it as much as I used to. I think a good blog consists of posts that people want to see, that aren't things they can see everywhere else, original thought, and for me, I like a blog that's funny.
What do you think about the potential Instagram update?
I hate the idea of not seeing things in chronological order. I mean, I know a lot of people just follow and don't look at all the posts, but I like to see everything from everyone I follow so for me it's annoying.
Drake or Kanye? Riri or Beyonce? (This literally tells you EVERYTHING about a person).Drake, although I would say that would probably make me unpopular. I like music from both of them but I feel like Drake is more likeable in personality. Rihanna because she seems more accessible for some reason.
That's all for today lovelies, hope you all have a stunner week,
